The Highview Fire District relies heavily on volunteer firefighters. These men and women come from all walks of life, but all have one thing in common – at a moments notice, they put their lives on the line for their community. Our members include engineers, mechanics, painters, plumbers, police officers, and students. If you have the desire to serve your community and you meet our requirements, fill out and submit the form below or call our Station 1 to discuss becoming a Highview volunteer firefighter.
Once you are accepted into our firefighter recruit program, you will be put through 18 plus weeks of intensive training. You will be given the knowledge and the tools necessary to perform at the scene of an emergency. Once you have successfully completed the recruit program, you will be provided with standard issue firefighting gear and uniforms. You will also become eligible for our incentive programs. The Highview Fire District accepts transfers as well. Provided your training records are up to date, you will be tested on your knowledge and put through a familiarization course on Highview apparatus and Standard Operating Procedures. You will soon be accepted as a Highview firefighter.
