The BSA Fire Service Explorer Program is for teenagers, ages 14 - 21, who would like to go into the fire service and become an active firefighter. As an Explorer you will learn the skills and knowledge necessary to complete state and national certifications such as CPR, AED, EMT, and Firefighter.
The Explorer Post meets and trains every Thursday night at Highview Fire Station #1 from 7:00pm until 9:00pm. Our trainings cover areas in basic firefighting skills including: hose lines, ladders, search and rescue operations, fire behavior, and proper equipment use and maintenance. Many of these activities are counted towards possible future certifications. We all enjoy the post so much that we work hard to become good candidates for recuit firefighters on our 18th birthday.
If you or your teen is interested in joining the post, feel free to drop by one of our trainings any Thursday at 7:00pm. Our firefighters and adult advisors will be more than happy to show you all that we have to offer. For more information contact the Senior Advisor.
