Every year, a Walton award is given to the fire department with the biggest percentage increase over their previous year’s total in the WHAS Crusade for Children. Highview has won this award in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2003 and now 2012.

The Highview Fire District geared up for the 2012 season of the Crusade For Children on May 27, 2012. This week would mark the last home stretch of collecting for this year. It may seem like you only see us once a year collecting for the Crusade, but it really is a year-round effort. Trivia Night, Fish Fry, Chili Dinner, Frogtown Hop 5k Run/Walk and the Triple Crown Races are events we did in 2012 to do more for the Crusade for Children. Our final donation for the Crusade was $104,218.67. The Highview Fire District would like to thank the community for donating their money and time to help us with our goal.
